It all began about 10 years ago when the Smith’s and Perbix’s became friends through hockey. Fast forward to about 3 years ago, when Jay Perbix said to me “You should date my son”. Couple of months later, everyone was playing match maker. We’re re not sure who to give credit to? Jay, Dale, Andy, Blake, Jack? But each one of them wants full credit…

We quickly went on our first date to Maynards in the Summer of 2023 and soon went on a second date golfing, where I kept Nick on his toes the entire round. From there on out, it was always Maddy and Nick! We spent the next year with some distance and too many plane rides to count, going back and forth from MN to FL. The following year we lived in FL together, came home for Summer and Nicklaus popped the big question! Now here we are - getting married!!! Some might say it’s an arranged marriage!
